One collared, one on the run in Maplewood murder probe
One of two Atlantic County men suspected of killing three people in Maplewood on January 29 is in custody, the other is on the loose - and authorities warn that he should be considered armed and dangerous.
Lavelle T. Davis, 33, of Galloway, is still sought by investigators of the Essex County Prosecutor's Office. Jimmy Mays, 37, formerly of Egg Harbor Township, was arrested in Columbia, Maryland, and is awaiting an extradition hearing.
Michael Davis, 45, of Maplewood, Lance Fraser, 44, of Newark, and Roshana Kelson, 30, of Paterson, were found dead, authorities said.
Lavelle Davis and Mays each face three counts of murder, conspiracy, felony murder, robbery and weapons charges.
Anyone with information regarding Lavelle Davis's location is urged to reach the Essex County Prosecutor's Homicide-Major Crimes Task Force tip line, 1-877-TIPS-4EC (1-877-847-7432).
