Jerry Kilbane, Executive Director, says Ocean's Harbor House has been seeing an increase in homeless and runaway youths over the past two years. He says they can accommodate up to 24 children on any given night at its shelter or transitional program, but adds it costs about $225 to $300 dollars per day to house them. The transitional program teaches the children life skills and how to become productive members of society.

The organization is hoping to raise money for its programs by holding its 4th Annual 5k Run-Walk on Saturday, November 9th at First Energy Park in Lakewood. Kilbane says 100% of the proceeds will go directly to Ocean's Harbor House.

The event promises fun for the whole family, with a 5K Run, a 5K Walk and a 1 Mile Fun Run for Kids. Registration details are available at oceansharborhouse.org.
