OceanFirst Foundation awards $85,000 in summer camp scholarship grants
The OceanFirst Foundation awarded $85,000 in summer camp scholarship grants to Southern and Central New Jersey charities. The scholarships will provide up to 340 youths with safe and fun summer camp experiences.
21 southern and central New Jersey charities were awarded $85,000 in summer camp scholarship grants by the OceanFirst Foundation of Toms River, New Jersey. Executives from the foundation visited the Police Athletic League (PAL) in Egg Harbor Township, on Thursday, June 22, 2017 to award the grants which will enable participating partners to provide $250 camp scholarships to children in need of safe, affordable and fun camp programs.
"The 2017 summer camp season is upon us and we know that for many families it can be a challenge to afford engaging camp experiences. So we've partnered with some of the best nonprofits we know to help send kids to camp this summer. Campers will be able to experience everything from opera, art, and theater camps, to camps that focus on STEM, farming and New Jersey's coastal environment," said Katherine Durante, Executive Director of OceanFirst Foundation.
Also receiving grants in Southern Jersey were: Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City; Cape Assist (Wildwood); Girl Scouts of Central and Southern New Jersey (Cherry Hill); Levoy Theatre (Millville); New Jersey Audobon Nature Center of Cape May; Ocean City Arts Center and The Southwest Council (Vineland).
