Gallivanting around the 'Save Rite Liquors' store parking lot on Highway 35 South caught the attention of police in Monmouth's Ocean Township who say they spotted a man peer into, then enter and exit an unlocked car shoving something into his jacket pocket.

Javar J. Johnson, 34, is facing charges for burglary and theft following the March 22 incident that occurred around 9:25 am.

Detectives on duty nearby had then approached and stopped Johnson and found that he had shoved some cigarettes into his jacket pocket.

Police say Johnson did not have permission to enter the unlocked vehicle and remove the cigarettes.

After his arrest, Johnson was processed and transported to the county jail pending his initial court appearance.
