
Ocean County, NJ woman dies, three children seriously injured in Freehold, NJ three car accident
An Ocean Township mother has passed away while her three children remain hospitalized following a three-vehicle accident near Siloam Road and Old Turkey Swamp Road in Freehold Township on Thursday afternoon around 5:00 pm, announced Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey.
Investigators said that through their preliminary probe into the accident, they've learned that a Ford F350 pickup truck driven by a 53-year-old man from Little Egg Harbor Township left the southbound lane of Siloam Road and his a Honda CR-V SUV driven by a 34-year-old from Jackson Township "with a glancing blow" and then struck a Chrysler Pacifica mini-van driven by a 42-year-old woman from Ocean Township (Ocean County) head-on.
Acting Prosecutor Linskey said that the driver of the mini-van was pronounced dead at the scene while her 3-year-old child was brought to Jersey Shore University Medical Center via medical helicopter, her 9-year-old and 13-year-old children were also taken to JSUMC but via ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The other two drivers remained at the scene of the accident. No injuries were reported for either of them.
In addition to Freehold Township Police at the scene, the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART) and the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office were also there as well.
