NJ ‘Stranger Things’ star’s band playing Stone Pony
New Jersey's young 'Stranger Things' standout is using his star power to chase some rock and roll dreams. Gaten Matarazzo has become quite an A-lister, as fan favorite 'Dustin' on the Netflix sci-fi drama. The 15-year-old has shared moments with Kelly Clarkson and Mets pitcher, Matt Harvey, in the past week alone!
So, local fans are pumped that the Little Egg Harbor native is flexing his Jersey Shore roots when it comes to his band, Work in Progress. They've got a show slated for Saturday, December 2 in Tuckerton (unfortunately, Gaten himself won't be present)! Gaten promoted the show on social, promising a real rock set at Tuckerton Beach Grille.
But Gaten will be around for another show the band is playing at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park Dec. 29.
The group also shared photos and clips from what seems to have been a 'warm up' gig (tagged at a venue in Paterson).
Matarazzo also is giving back here in Jersey. He's the next homegrown celeb to appear in a PSA video series by the Ocean County Prosecutor. And, he's become a high-profile advocate for cleidocranial dysplasia.
The young actor recently talked with fellow NJ native Kelly Ripa and co-host Ryan Seacrest about how the rare skeletal condition was written into his Netflix character.
Proud Jersey Girl Erin Vogt’s first reporting gig involved her Fisher Price tape recorder. As a wife and momma of two kiddies, she firmly believes that life’s too short to drink bad coffee. A fan of the beach, Dave Grohl and karma, in no particular order.
