Some good news for the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Tuesday after receiving a grant in the amount of $450,344. Congressman Frank Pallone Jr., (NJ-06) announced the funding which will serve 15 communities be able to prepare for natural disasters and other weather conditions at an improved advantage.

The communties together make up the Two Rivers Council of Mayors in Monmouth County.

The grant provided funding will additionally permit those involved with the New Jersey Fostering Regional Adaptation via the Municipal Economic Scencarios to take part in the planning process for such actions needed.

"As residents of New Jersey continue to recover from Sandy, we must be ready for future challenges and put out local government and communities in a position to recover as quickly as possible," said Pallone. "I appreciate the NOAA understanding the importance of these ongoing efforts towards preparedness in New Jersey."
