EVESHAM — This Burlington County community remains on edge following a series of recent reports of men walking about in various states of undress.

On Wednesday, the township's Richard L. Rice Elementary School was ordered to shelter in place after police received a report of a man chasing a group of children into the woods.

Police said the man resembled the description of an unknown suspect wanted for chasing two girls down a street on Dec. 30 while he was naked.

The incident on Wednesday proved to be a false alarm, but only after police swarmed the area with a search-dog team.

Police said they found the children and the man and learned that he had chased after the kids because they had been throwing rocks at his vehicle.

He was not arrested or charged with any crime.

At least four lewdness incidents have been reported in Evesham and Medford since November, with the most recent one reported Jan. 4 by an Evesham woman who saw a man expose his penis on her porch.

Police here have released an artist's sketch of what the Dec. 30 suspect may look like. The teenage girls said he appeared "chubby" and drove a “Cherokee style” Jeep.

The patio flasher, however, was described as slender and pale.

Another perv exposed himself to a woman on Huntington Circle Drive in Medford on Dec. 21 and to another woman in Medford on Nov. 30.

No arrests have been made and no suspect identified.

"The Evesham Police Department strongly encourages residents to immediately report any type of suspicious activity," the department said Wednesday.
