One of the great things about living at the Jersey Shore is the fact that beach sports are only steps away.

But, as great as a summer afternoon on the sand playing volleyball is, one thing that none of us can control is the weather.

That's why hardcore beach volleyball players are rejoicing at the transformation of the nearby Highline Arena.

The Asbury Park Press reports that the arena's new owners shipped in 60 dump truck loads of sand, 1,600 tons worth, to turn the former indoor soccer field in Aberdeen into the Garden State's only year-round, all weather beach volleyball destination.

The arena plans to play host to beach volleyball leagues and tournaments in an environment where Mother Nature won't have an impact on the schedule.
