Following so many other summer 2020 cancellations, this year's edition of New Jersey's State Fair Meadowlands was just officially canceled.

Not to be confused with the official New Jersey State Fair in Sussex County, State Fair Meadowlands, which used to be simply "The Meadowlands Fair" is a separate event that sets up every summer in the sprawling parking lots of the Meadowlands Sports Complex.

The event traditionally spans two weeks in late June and early July, but was moved to late July and early August about a month ago in hopes of being able to get approval from the State of New Jersey to still hold the event, but on Tuesday morning, the official State Fair Meadowlands Facebook page announced that their plan to hold the event has been denied, leading to the cancellation:

As for the New Jersey State Fair (officially, the New Jersey State Fair Sussex County Farm & Horse Show) which is traditionally held at the Sussex County Fairgrounds way up in Augusta, NJ, officials pulled the plug on that event back in May, announcing that the next New Jersey State Fair will be held August 7-14, 2021.

Similarly, the popular annual Ocean County Fair, which believe it or not would have already been over by now, was also cancelled quite some time ago.

The 2020 Ocean County Fair was originally scheduled for July 8th - July 12th at Berkeley Township's Robert J. Miller Airpark, but back in April officials made the announcement that this year's fair wouldn't be happening.
