New Jersey is in Desperate Need of a White Christmas
As an adult, snow is a little less magical than it was as a kid.
Adults don’t get snow days…
There is nothing better in the winter, as a child, than a snow day. Snow was great no matter what day it fell, but it is even better on a school day.
Sledding, snow angels, snowmen, and snow ball fights, the fun you have as a kid as your face turns bright red from the cold is unmatched.
Then you grow up and you use the back of your sleeve to clean your car off as you’re running late to work because you can’t find the ice scraper you bought last year.
Adulting stinks.
With that being said, while snow isn’t as much fun as an adult, it is still magical on Christmas.
I tried to remember the last time we had a white Christmas in Toms River, but it must’ve been so far back that I don’t even recall.
Google was no help whatsoever. Some sites said New Jersey had a white Christmas in 2013, others said 2009, and one said 1966! That narrows it down…
People seem more stressed lately and a white Christmas may lift the spirits of our fellow New Jerseyans.
Could you imagine waking up on Christmas morning, opening the curtains, and see a beautiful blanket of snow laying across the ground?
It will make even the most tired adults feel like a kid again.
Not only will a white Christmas brighten the day of New Jersey residents, but we are in a drought so we need it.
New Jersey hasn’t had significant rainfall since September. It may have rained recently, but it wasn’t anywhere near enough.
Experts are predicting that we will have a dry winter, so any amount of precipitation would be welcomed.
However, let’s not hold our breath. According to willigetawhitechristmas.com, there is only a 25% chance that Toms River will get a white Christmas.
We should take that with a grain of salt, here’s to hoping they’re wrong.
