It came up in conversation, "When did it last snow at Halloween time?" The answer surprised me, and it wasn't that long ago.

The last time it snowed on Halloween in New Jersey was in 2011. A major storm, often referred to as Snowtober, impacted the Garden State from October 29th to 30th, resulting in significant snowfall and power outages, which led to the postponement of trick-or-treating.
  • What happened: A major storm dropped 8 to 16 inches of wet, heavy snow in parts of northern and central New Jersey.
  • Impact: The storm caused widespread power outages, downed trees, and led officials to delay Halloween festivities for the first time in the state's history.
