Will The First “Frost” Arrive In New Jersey in Just Days?
The temperatures were in the 80s this past weekend here in New Jersey, but we could see a change, and we could see our first frost in the fall here in the Garden State within a week or so. This won't be for everyone, but some might have a first frost.

What is Frost?
Frost is a thin coating of ice crystals that develops when water vapor settles and freezes on plants. According to The Old Farmer’s Almanac, this typically happens in the fall and winter, when longer nights allow temperatures to drop. While frost forms in cold conditions, it can still appear even if a thermometer reads above 32°F, because the air closest to the ground is often colder than the air higher up.
When will New Jersey see its first frost?
According to a recent app.com article, "northeast New Jersey will likely see the first frost around Oct. 13, while areas like NYC, the Jersey Shore, and South Jersey between Nov. 8 and Nov. 17."
We should see a drop in temperatures this week in New Jersey. The overnight lows this week could be in the 40s by Wednesday or Thursday night. Temps could dip into the 30s by Friday in portions of Northwest New Jersey.
