Some Financial Relief Is Coming To NJ Residents

It's not a crazy amount of "relief," but something is better than nothing. Lawmakers announced this week that New Jersey residents will see a slight break on their electric bills this fall to help offset costs from the summer, when air conditioning can significantly increase their electric bills.

Electric Bill Relief Coming To NJ Residents

According to a recent Patch article, "The NJ Board of Public Utilities deemed the relief necessary following an increase in electric bill costs and record-high temperatures."

 

New Jersey electric customers will see bill credits this fall equaling $100. This, according to the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU). Customers will see two $50 credits. One in September and one in October, totaling $100 in credits this fall. The relief comes for customers in New Jersey:

 

  • Atlantic City Electric (ACE)
  • PSE&G
  • Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L)
  • Rockland Electric Company (RECO)

 

(No action will be required from account holders.)
