Every celebrity finds themselves in a situation where they need to take a role they'd rather not, especially early in their career. It's only when they become superstars does the embarrassment really sets in.

And a Yahoo list just came out of the 64 most embarrassing roles movie actors took, and unfortunately, you can find many of our favorite New Jersey celebrities on the list.

As a matter of fact, we feel like we get a little more than our fair share on this list, but what else is new?

So, which great New Jersey celebs made the list they wish they weren't on for roles they probably wish they didn't take? Some of the names may surprise you.

Here are the New Jersey stars and their embarrassing roles that made the list.

Anne Hathaway - The Hustle . Critics say her bad accent was only the beginning of the problems.

Paul Rudd - Gen-Y Cops. He played a science fiction cop and he probably shouldn't have.

Meryl Streep - She-Devil. What? The great Meryl Streep is on this list? The answer is yes. This was not one of the multi-Academy Award-winning actress's best roles, but she is Meryl Streep, and that goes a long way.

Now those three actors are really good, and one of them may the best of a generation, so it just goes to prove that any actor can stumble upon a role they wish they had never taken.

But they are some of our favorite stars, and they bring us New Jersey pride, so we have no problem forgiving them.
