New Jersey Breaks Record On Day One Of Heatwave

In the news on Monday, according to the National Weather Service, New Jersey broke a record on the first day of a heatwave that has hit the Garden State.

Temperatures at Newark Liberty International Airport hit triple digits (101 degrees) on Monday, breaking the previous record high of 99, which was set one year ago in 2024.

101 degrees is extremely hot, and temperatures today (Tuesday) could reach that range once again. Residents are being urged to stay hydrated, check on seniors and children, and watch pets for any signs of heat-related issues.
