An Old Bridge man has found himself in trouble with the law after posing as a police officer at a traffic stop on Route 18 in Monmouth County.

Ocean Township Police said in a statement that Monmouth County Sheriff's Officers pulled over a vehicle and during the stop Demarkus Hill, 31, allegedly said that he was a Class II Special Police Officer.

When the Detective on the case did a look into his claim, he learned that Hill was not in fact a policeman and was given a summons charging him with impersonating a Law Enforcement Officer.

Hill has been released from jail, custody pending a future day in court.
