Monmouth County, NJ Prosecutor’s Office searching for witnesses of fatal car crash in Marlboro, NJ
If you were driving or in the area of Route 9 and Route 520 early Sunday morning around 2:20 am in Marlboro, you're encouraged to get in touch with law enforcement.
Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey said in a statement Monday that law enforcement is looking for witnesses to a motor vehicle collision that claimed the life of one of the drivers.
The accident occurred Sunday morning at 2:22 am when a 2019 Cadillac XT5 crossover heading south on Route 9 collided with a 2018 Nissan Altima at the Route 520 intersection.
As a result of the initial collision, the Altima then struck a nearby telephone pole.
The female driver of the Altima was brought to the hospital, where a short time later, she passed away from her injuries, at 3:04 am.
Acting Prosecutor Linskey said that the man driving the Cadillac XT5, was uninjured in the crash and that both drivers were the only ones in their vehicles.
The tragic Sunday morning crash remains under investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and Marlboro Police.
