Monmouth to Celebrate America’s 250th with Parade in Middletown Sunday

We are fast approaching the 4th of July holiday, but this is not just any 4th of July it is America's 250th celebration. It reminds me of the Bicentennial celebration we had in 1976.

America 250 is such a special celebration because this isn’t something we get to see every day; it’s America turning 250 years old. That’s a pretty amazing milestone when you stop and think about it. It’s a chance to celebrate our history, remember where we started, and enjoy being together at parades, festivals, fireworks, and community events. For a lot of us, it’s also about making memories with family and friends and being part of something that only comes around once in a lifetime.

When Is Monmouth County's Big America 250 Parade?

Get ready for a fun, patriotic parade in Monmouth County this Sunday. According to the Asbury Park Press, "Monmouth County is celebrating the nation’s 250th birthday and the 248th anniversary of the Battle of Monmouth with the county’s 'largest public celebration,' including a parade and festival in Middletown on Sunday, June 28th."

The parade this Sunday is called "America’s Big Birthday Parade: Red, White & You". The report added, "The parade will feature marching bands, floats, and live performances. Following its end at Mater Dei Park, a community festival will take place starting at 2 p.m. and ending at 5. Both the parade and festival are free to attend."

Sunday's America 250 Parade will begin at 12:30 p.m. at the Middletown Train Station and travel approximately 2.3 miles to Mater Dei Park on Church Street.

Sounds like a fantastic way to celebrate America's 250th birthday and thousands will be on hand to honor the "Red, White, and Blue".
