Middletown woman arrested on multiple charges after fleeing traffic stop
An active warrant our for her arrest may have been the reason a Middletown woman fled a traffic stop in Monmouth's Ocean Township on Monday.
Police say Marylyn Ortiz-Chicchetti, 27, gave false info to them after being pulled over at Sunset Avenue and Highway 35 around 1:30 pm.
When asked to step out of the car after being told she was under arrest, Ortiz-Chicchetti reportedly refused and just drove off.
A pursuit up Route 35 North then ensued, ending moments later.
Her arrest came later on Monday night at a motel in Middletown via the Criminal Investigation Bureau following a brief struggle with detectives.
The 2017 Jaguar she was driving was seized pending civil forfeiture proceedings and Ortiz-Chicchetti was transported to the county jail pending her initial court appearance.
She's charged with Two Counts of Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, Two Counts of Eluding, Two Counts of Resisting Arrest, Two Counts of Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose(vehicle) Two Counts of Obstruction and Two Counts of Hindering her own Apprehension.
