Marlboro Police, First Aid provide life-saving CPR to revive 1-year old girl

The word to describe each individual involved in saving the life of a 1-year old little girl in Marlboro.

Police received a call on Monday night around 11:15 pm from a man who told dispatch that his 1-year old daughter was choking and not breathing.

Patrolman Adam Levine, Patrolman Frank Bianco, Patrolman Anthony DiMarco, Sergeant Greg Aronne and Cpl. Joshua Stonesifer arrived at the home along with the Marlboro First Aid Squad and saw that the girl was unresponsive, gasping for aid and began turning blue.

They jumped immediately into action and performed CPR.

A few minutes later, she began to cry and her color started returning to her face.

A group of hero's saved her life.

She was brought to the hospital by the Marlboro First Aid Squad for further evaluation.

Marlboro Police Chief Peter Pezzullo expressed in a statement Thursday how very proud he was of the officers and first aid members "for their quick, life-saving actions during an extremely difficult and trying incident. A couple of the officers have young daughters of their own which adds an element of emotion to an already stressful situation."

This isn't the first time quick action and reaction by Marlboro Police Officers saved a life.

One recent story occurred in June of 2020, when Officers Donna Gonzalez and Robert Kelly rescued a teenage girl from a burning vehicle.

Marlboro Police Lieutenant John Loyer, Patrol Officer Donna Gonzalez, Patrol Officer Adam Mattei, Patrol Officer Colin Murray and Patrol Officer Robert Kelly all later received the Valor Award for their response and action following this car crash.
