The Ramones may have started in New York City, but their fast, loud, no-frills sound helped change rock music forever. Formed in 1974, the band kept things simple with short, high-energy songs that inspired countless punk bands around the world.
Even though they never topped the pop charts, classics like Blitzkrieg Bop and I Wanna Be Sedated made them legends, and today they're still considered one of the most influential bands in rock history.
The Ramones released 14 studio albums between 1976 and 1995, and while their sound stayed true to their fast, no-nonsense style, each record had its own personality. Their self-titled debut, Ramones (1976), introduced the world to their stripped-down punk sound. Leave Home and Rocket to Russia followed in 1977 and featured fan favorites like Sheena Is a Punk Rocker and Rockaway Beach. Marky Ramone will play the Stone Pony in Asbury Park on Saturday, November 21st, 2026. Mary will be playing the Ramones Classics, and it's just before Thanksgiving.
If you have never been to the Stone Pony in Asbury, you have missed seeing a show in a classic Jersey Shore setting. The Pony is a true bar/concert spot to see a show. It's raw, real, and a great place to see a show. I have always enjoyed music at the Pony, and experiencing the Ramones classics at the Pony is a night not to be missed.
