10 Things I Will Miss About Summer
We still have more than two weeks of official summer and many love what we call “local summer” which has just started. However for me the best season of the year has ended and while fall is wonderful what comes after that is awful so here are 10 things I will miss most about summer.
- Daylight- Next to the beach itself this might be the worst part because as summer fades so does daylight. On June 21 we had over 15 hours of daylight…today it’s more than two hours less and it gets worse.
- Clothes- What is better than just throwing on shorts or a bathing suit with a tee shirt and sandals every day?
- Bikinis- Sure will miss these on the beach. No other words needed.
- Barbeques- I know you can grill 12 months a year but there’s something about cooking burgers and steaks with a cold beer in your hand while it’s still warm and light out.
- Reading- My favorite place to read a good book is at the beach.
- Ice Cream- I don’t have if that often but I can tell you this…it tastes better in July than in January.
- Baseball- If ever a sport was made for summer its baseball. Of course as a Mets fan I’m hoping the season is not over just yet.
- School busses- Don’t have to worry about getting behind one in summer.
- Being tan- I know sun can damage your skin and it’s not for everyone but I just feel so much better when I’m tan…especially my feet.
- Summer drinks- Whether it’s lemonade, fresh fruit smoothies or unique cocktails with fruit and umbrellas there is something to quench your thirst and desires.
outdoor cocktails are the best
The only good thing about the end of summer is football season and that is a major consolation.
