This morning's thunder storms are being blamed for a fire that broke out at the Covered Bridge Senior living Community in Manalapan.

Township police say the call came in at 8:48 in the morning, with reports of a blaze at building 112 on Amberly Drive. They believe the fire originiated in Unit D and spread rapidly to the surrounding units.

Luckily no one was hurt however all residents were evacuated.

Monmouth County Fire Marshall Rick Hogan is assisting township police with the investigation. Preliminary investigation indicates the building was struck by lightning.
