Lakehurst man allegedly fondled himself in front of a child at Lake Horicon
A Lakehurst man is placed in handcuffs after inappropriately touching himself in front of a child at Lake Horicon, announced Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer.
The victims mother provided a description of the suspect who was later identified as 65-year old Richard Davis who is charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4a(1), a crime of the 3rd degree.
On May 17, Lakehurst Police received a report of a male touching himself inappropriately in the presence of a child at Lake Horicon.
After Davis was identified as the suspect, he was questioned by Detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, Special Victims’ Unit and Officers from the Lakehurst Police Department and subsequently arrested.
Davis was processed and transported to the Ocean County Jail where he is currently lodged awaiting a detention hearing.
Prosecutor Billhimer praised the Lakehurst Police Department and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victim’s Unit for their quick, yet thorough investigation.
“Lake Horicon is a beautiful area. Families should be able to visit the lake and the park without fear of this type of behavior” Prosecutor Billhimer said.
