Joint Base Mcguire-Dix-Lakehurst will be swinging its gates wide open to the public during the two-day event Saturday and Sunday at McGuire. On WOBM-AM's Townsquare Tonight, base spokesperson Angel Lopez said the air show and open house is aimed at giving the public an idea of what's happening at the place that houses New Jersey's second largest employer.

"We're featuring the Thunderbirds, the U.S. Army Golden Knights," Lopez said. "One of the best things about this open house and air show is that it truly is joint. You will have an ability to come in and see America's strength."

They'll also have a "wing walker" participating and filming the entire feat for an upcoming reality show.

Lopez said there will also be military air planes on display. She said there will be C-17's, K-C 10's, K-C 135's, Army aircrafts, Marine aircrafts and the Joint Bases Contingency Response Wing; the only one in the Air Force.

Lopez said they'll be guiding guest onto the base through three entrances to free parking areas. Then guest will be shuttled to the air show location. There's also a long list of what you can and can not bring to the base at the Joint Base's special events page which is jbmdlspecialevents.com

"We do recommend though that when people come out you wear comfortable shoes, make sure you bring ear plugs, sun screen, cameras, diaper bags," Lopez said.
