Last summer, I moved to Ocean County with my family. The first beach we discovered was Island Beach State Park. We had a good time and so I hit like and follow on their Facebook page. Today, I noticed this post of theirs with over 700 comments and over 1,000 shares. It read, "You never know what you are going to find on the beach after a storm...Our State Park Police found this skull yesterday...As soon as we identify we will post. Any guesses?"
Look at that. It goes up to the officer's waist. There appears to be at least another foot flat on the sand. I'm no math genius, but my best guess is this unknown skull is anywhere from 4 to 6 feet. I showed my 10-year old and he guessed that it was a whale. We looked at some of the other guesses and thought these were most entertaining and/or likely:
- Amanda: small humpback
- Kerrianne: pterodactyl (funny, but unlikely...😜)
- JoAnne: bottle head dolphin
- Chris: Jimmy Hoffa
- Patrick: chupacabra
- Thomas: Alien, Easter bunny hybrid
What do YOU think it is? I eagerly await the results of the investigation by State Park Police.
The mystery has been solved! Here's what the investigation found.
