Jackson Memorial alumnus advances in Air Force National Guard

From the green hills of Jackson to the blue skies of the Air Force National Guard, Airman 1st Class Dallas S. Sheard advances in service to America.

The 2016 Jackson Memorial High School graduate completed basic training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in Texas.

The eight-week regimen includes military discipline, core values, physical training, and the basic warfare principles and skills. He's also eligible for credits toward an applied science degree from the Community College of the Air Force.

Sheard's parents, John F. and Natalie L. Sheard, keep the home fires burning in Jackson.
