Authorities in Ocean County have identified the body that was found in the trunk of a vehicle on Thursday.

Prosecutors say the decedent at the center of an investigation originating out of Lakewood Township has been identified as 57-year-old David Koscuik of Lakewood.

Body Found in Lakewood

Around noon on February 28th, the Lakewood Township Police Department received notification about an unconscious man located inside the trunk of a vehicle parked in the area of Fairway Court.

At the scene, officers found the body of a dead man.

Investigation Continues in Ocean County

The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Major Crime Unit, the Lakewood and Manchester Township Police Departments, and the Ocean County Sheriff's Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit are investigating this matter.

Authorities say this investigation remains active and ongoing and there is no known danger to the public.
