
All Animals Safe After 2-alarm Barn Fire in Cape May County, NJ
- 2-alarm barn fire broke out Monday on Sunset Road in Belleplain
- Fire was under control in about 30 minutes
- No injuries or animal losses were reported
Two-alarm Barn Fire in Belleplain
No injuries to either humans or animals were reported following a two-alarm barn fire in Cape May County on Monday evening.
The Dennis Volunteer Fire Company says that at about 6:25 PM, they were called out to the 800 block of Sunset Road in Belleplain for a report of a structure fire.
Firefighters arriving at the scene found a large barn that was fully engulfed in flames with exposure to a nearby house, which necessitated a second alarm being called.
The fire was placed under control around 7:00 and crews remained on the scene for an investigation and extensive overhaul of the barn area using heavy machinery until almost midnight.
All Animals Safe
There were no reported injuries and all animals were safe and accounted for.
Numerous Agencies Battled the Blaze
The Belleplain, Ocean View, Woodbine, Goshen, Leesburg, Heislerville, Avalon, Tuckahoe, and Seaville Fire Departments all assisted at the scene, along with AtlantiCare EMS, Upper Township EMS, the Cape May County Fire Marshal's Office, the NJ State Fire Marshal's Office, New Jersey State Police, and Atlantic City Electric.
