Four New Jersey Cities Are Among The Richest In America

The state of New Jersey has always been a state full of variety. From the Jersey Shore Communities to the big metropolitan cities to the expansive farmlands and state forests, the Garden State has so many surprises with the types of different people who call the state home.

We already know that New Jersey is home to the highest household incomes in the country and five of the most expensive zip codes in the United States are in New Jersey.  Back in 2019, Bloomberg listed five of the top 50 Richest US Cities were in New Jersey.  But what about five years later?

The website 24/7 Wall Street gathered information about the cities with the most expensive homes and where the people with the highest Median Household Incomes live. They also found the towns that have the lowest SNAP recipiency rates and used all of this information to rank the 50 Richest Cities in America.

Here are the New Jersey Cities that landed in their rankings:

*Hoboken, New Jersey: 40th Richest City in America
Even though the Median Home Value is outside the top 100 in the United States, Hoboken residents have one of the highest Median Household Incomes in New Jersey ($160,890). Over 80 percent of the Adults who live in Hoboken have a Bachelor's Degree or Higher for a Population of 59,369 residents.

*Princeton, New Jersey: 35th Richest City in America
Landing in the Top 75 Highest Media Home Values in the United States ($893,600) helps vault Princeton up the rankings. With a Median Household Income of $165,149 and home of the oldest University in New Jersey, Princeton is in rarified air among American Cities.

*Westfield, New Jersey: 15th Richest City in America
The second highest Median Household Income ($185,319) paired with the 36th Lowest Snap Recipiency Rate (1.3%) puts Westfield into very affluent status. The Median Home Values are also top 100 in the United States ($810,400) which helps elevate Westfield into the top 20 of this list.

*Ridgewood, New Jersey: 13th Richest City in America
The combination of the highest Median Household Income in New Jersey ($194,256) with the top 100 highest Median Home Values in the United States ($789,900) makes Ridgewood the Richest City in the Garden State.

So even though New Jersey no longer has five towns ranked in the Top 50 Richest Cities in America, all four of the above are in the top 40, and two in the top 20 is still eye-opening.  Now if they could spend some of that money to improve some of the town's infrastructure, because some parts of Hoboken and Princeton need a facelift.
