The Gloucester City, New Jersey community is mourning the tragic death of a teenager who lost his life in a fatal car accident as a fundraiser has been set up in his memory.

Gloucester City, NJ Teenager Killed in Maryland Crash

18-year-old Gage Myers, of Gloucester City, lost his life suddenly on March 23 in an accident on I-95 North in Cecil County, Maryland.

According to Patch.com, Myers was behind the wheel of a Chevy Sonic when he ran into the back of another vehicle that had slowed or stopped in front of him. There are reports traffic had already been stopped because of another accident.

Authorities pronounced Gage dead at the scene. His passenger, 19-year-old Rylee McNee's injuries were so serious she was transported by helicopter to a nearby hospital.

GoFundMe Established for Gloucester City, NJ Native Gage Myers

Myers was a 2023 graduate of Gloucester City High School where he played both baseball and basketball, according to a GoFundMe page set up in his memory.

Gage is remembered for being a 'hardworking kind soul' and as well as his 'kind words, a quick wit and a handsome smile'.

The family of Gage Myers has set up a GoFundMe to raise donations to offset funeral expenses, Patch.com reports.
