Steve Bouchard was a victim of a head-on crash on Thursday, Sept 4th, when another driver crossed the center line on Tilton Road, near Atlantic City International Airport, and hit his vehicle head-on.

A passenger in the other vehicle died of her injuries

Bouchard, 66, was taken via medical helicopter to AtlantiCare City Division, where he remains in intensive care.

His Give In Kind fundraiser says he is still having necessary surgeries.

The Give In Kind campaign allows people to send messages of support, participate in a meal train for his family, or donate to help offset the financial impact of his hospitalization.

Steve Bouchard's Remarkable Life of Service

This crash has made clear what a busy and productive life Bouchard has.

He spent over 30 years teaching in the Greater Egg Harbor School District, having taught at all three schools in the district, Absegami, Cedar Creek, and Oakcrest high schools.

He went on to become a longtime member and the former president of the Egg Harbor City School Board.

Bouchard is also a popular fitness teacher at the JCC in Margate.

The JCC released an email sharing their thoughts for Steve in this tough time, and gave information to members on how they can contribute to his assistance by donating to him at the JCC.

We are deeply saddened to share that our Group Fitness Instructor, Steve, was severely injured in a recent car accident. He is currently in the hospital and facing a long recovery. At this time, we do not know when he may be able to return.

Steve has always given so much of his energy and care to our community. Now, as he and his family navigate this difficult time, we invite those who wish to support them to do so through the button below or bring cards and gift cards to the Welcome Center in the JCC’s Main Lobby.

Steve Bouchard's Community Impact

It seems that everywhere you look, acquaintances, former students, and friends of Steve and his family are thinking about him and offering to help.

Aimee Bouchard, Steve's daughter, wrote about this in a Facebook post.

"It has been eye-opening to see how many lives he has touched over his years. I've always known he's an awesome guy, I mean he's my dad, but to see the impact he has made on others is really special."
