Nothing cuts through the bitter cold of a wintry New Jersey day than the warmth of some great soup. For many of us, it brings us back to the days of our youth, when there was a piping hot bowl waiting for us in the kitchen after we made the first snowman of the season.

I remember it all too well. You'd come into the house soaked from the snowball fight or the snow angels, and you'd be chilled to the bone. Only a hot bowl of soup or some delicious hot chocolate would do the trick.
