(6) South Brunswick 72, (7) Marlboro 61

Senior Alex Frank scored 11 of his 19 points in the first quarter to get Marlboro out to an early 10-point lead, but the Vikings wiped away the deficit and ran away with a win that lands them in the sectional final for the second time in four years.

South Brunswick ripped off a 14-2 run to take a 21-19 lead, taking its first lead on a floater by 1,000-point scorer Kalani Antoine. Marlboro pulled even at 26-26, Antoine scored in the final seconds of the half to give the Vikings a two-point edge.

A three-pointer by Marlboro junior Steven Scimone pulled the Mustangs within 38-36, but South Brunswick answered with a 13-0 run to open up 15-point lead.

A basket-plus-a-foul by Frank cut Marlboro's deficit to seven with just under three minutes to go, but South Brunswick scored the next seven points to put the game out of reach.

Scimone and senior Sohan Eleti each added 11 points and senior A.J. Schwartz pitched in nine points, eight rebounds and six assists for Marlboro, which took an eight-game winning streak into Saturday.

Antoine scored a game-high 23 points to lead South Brunswick, which will travel to No. 1 Trenton in Tuesday's sectional final.

(1) Trenton 68, (5) Middletown South 52

Junior Kabrien Goss scored a game-high 20 points and the Tornadoes stormed out to an 11-point lead through the end of the first quarter in topping the Eagles.

Goss led all five Trenton starters in double-figure scoring, while senior Dylan Csik, senior Pat Brown and sophomore Brady Hahn each scored nine to lead Middletown South. Junior Ryan Denery also scored eight in the loss.

Central Jersey Group II

(2) Manasquan 48, Raritan 30

Sophomore Darius Adams scored 13 of his game-high 16 points in the second half while also grabbing nine rebounds and the Warriors used a fast start and a strong finish to fend off the Rockets and reach the sectional final round for the fourth straight season.

Junior Ryan Frauenheim and classmate Alex Konov did all of their scoring in the first half, with Frauenheim scoring 11 on 4-for-4 shooting and Konov scoring 10. Both Frauenheim and Konov scored eight points apiece in the first quarter, during which Manasquan outscored Raritan, 19-4.

The Warriors built the lead to 24-4 before a drive by senior Jack O'Leary ended a seven-and-a-half-minute scoring drought for Raritan. The Rockets chopped their deficit down to nine at 31-22, but the Warriors held Raritan to just nine points the rest of the way.

Senior Matt Agar led Raritan with eight points, while classmates Jack O'Leary, Mike Diller and Jack Coleman chipped in seven each.
