Island Heights Volunteer Firefighters were able to quickly douse flames arising from a detached garage at a home in the borough early Monday morning around 2:12 am.

There were no injuries reported to the residents and animals with the fire being contained to the garage area.

Island Heights Volunteer Fire Company Number 1 and two engines extinguished the fire using all the manpower they had to contain the flames.

"A great effort by all of our members involved!"
