The Ocean County Prosecutors Office and Berkeley Township Police are asking anyone with information regarding a stabbing that took place on Saturday night around 7:00 pm in Manitou Park to come forward as they investigate the incident.

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer and Berkeley Police Chief Karin DiMichele issued a joint statement Monday that the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Berkeley Township Police Department Detective Bureau, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit are collectively investigating the incident.

Berkeley Police Officers responded to the area of Magnolia Avenue for a report of a stabbing and found a 50 year-old male victim with a stab wound to the neck.

He was taken to Community Medical Center and then transported to Robert Wood Johnson Memorial Hospital in New Brunswick, where he is currently listed in critical condition.
