Investigation ongoing into man shot in the back in Lakewood
Investigators in Ocean County are looking into who shot a man in the back in Lakewood and why they did it.
Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer announced the multi-agency investigation now underway into the Friday shooting that includes the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Lakewood Police and the Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit.
Lakewood Police responded to the Martin Luther King Boulevard around 9:45 pm for a report of a victim with a gunshot wound.
Officers then found a 30 year-old man with a gunshot wound to the back.
He was brought to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood where he is currently reported to be in stable condition.
