Earlier this week, rumors started circulating on social media groups that the heritage Lamp Post Inn in Pine Beach will be closing their doors for good.

The rumors are true, according to a nostalgic and sad Facebook post on their official page, "A few more weeks of great times ahead!! We are happy to share that we have sold the business. We will be open a few more weeks & [we] hope you can stop in before we wish the new owner luck!"

It is unclear if the new owner will be keeping the current business model, but the Facebook post eludes to the business closing down for good in "a few weeks."

The iconic Lamp Post Inn has been a staple in Ocean County for over 13 years, and I have had many birthdays, events, drinks, and dinners there.

"Thank you to our fantastic guests, friends & family for all your support!! 13 years in this business is a lifetime," the statement said on Facebook.

The post concludes with the owners, Michele and Brian, asking people to stay positive and to be happy for their family, "Looking forward to time with my kids & our family!"

The post included pictures of patrons throughout the years — you can see them below.
