Howell police officer, 2 others hospitalized after crash

A Howell police officer and several others are hospitalized in the aftermath of a crash this afternoon involving a squad car and another vehicle

Township police said that Officer Michael Moore reported the crash in which he was involved at about 1:30 PM, on West Farms Road at Casino Drive. Moore sustained a hand injury, police said.

They offered no immediate details about the identities and conditions of the other crash victims, but said that the driver and passenger needed extrication procedures to remove them from the vehicle.

Investigators initially believe that the private car entered the roadway, directly into the squad car's path, police said. More information follows when investigations are completed.
