I'm backkkkkkkkk with another crazy story from my life....because what else is new.

So let me start by saying this: I am so thankful to be a born-and-raised Jersey girl.

We don't take no crap and believe it or not, that is a much harder skill to conquer than you would think.

New Jersey is one of the states people come to in order to get their career going. This is hustle city and success takes hard work.

Growing up in the heart of this state has bred me and the women around me to be independent and successful and I couldn't be more grateful.

So I have a friend who had to move down South for work....let's call her Katie.

Well Katie started  dating this guy...we'll call him Chad...for about a month. Things were going great.

They were successfully intimate, texted and called each other on a regular basis and Chad had set up different types of dates to keep things new and exciting.

But then one month into it -- Katie gets a phone call from Chad.

Out of the blue, Chad started asking Katie if she thought they were compatible because obviously something change where he didn't.

Basically....everything was fine until a heated political topic came up and they both were on opposite sides of the spectrum. It involved having a choice or not...I'll let you fill in the blanks.

Katie remained calm, explained her side of the story and he just couldn't handle having a partner that could speak up for herself.

She ended things right then and there.

What in the.....I couldn't believe what she was telling me.

And apparently, Katie experienced similar occurrences when dating down there which means that women who were born and raised there are probably used to it and keep quiet.

I could not be more proud of Katie for standing up for herself and what she believes in.

And it is this very story that had me thinking: "Damn, I am glad that not only myself but Katie is also a Jersey girl."

I get that I am a bit loud, a bit crazy and who knows what else....but I genuinely believe that my capability to speak up wouldn't be this strong if I was not born in New Jersey.

New Jersey is sandwiched between Philadelphia and New York City...so maybe we are so outspoken to prove that we should still be taken seriously despite our state's size.

We are here to conquer, to be successful and to make moves.

And don't you ever forget it.
