Being an Ocean County commuter is always challenging. In particular, the last few months have been more of a challenge than usual because of the major construction work going on.

The whole stretch from the Forked River rest area to the Monmouth rest area is pretty much a constant work zone. With lane closures, new traffic patterns, and massive work vehicles popping out of the middle of the roadway when you least expect it.

Of course, if we keep the big picture in mind, this will be a good thing in the end.

The plan is to make a number of the exits, including exit 91 in Brick, full interchanges. Meaning, you'll be able to get on and off the Parkway both northbound and southbound.

For me personally that'll be great. A full interchange at exit 91 will cut about 10 minutes off of my daily commute.

In the meantime, how has all the work been impacting you drive through Ocean County? Tell us in the comments!
