It is summer 2024 and we are looking to see how you are feeling about driving on one of the busiest roads in New Jersey, the Garden State Parkway. According to Wikipedia, "The Garden State Parkway is a controlled-access, tolled highway that stretches the north–south length of eastern New Jersey from the state's southernmost tip near Cape May north to the New York state line at Montvale. It's now after 4th of July and we want to see how you are feeling about the commute this summer on the GSP.

  • Is it constant traffic all week?
  • Are you seeing the usual Friday afternoon rush of people coming down to the Shore?
  • Are Sunday's a nightmare with everyone leaving to go back home?
  • Do you find traffic now on the Parkway is relatively good?
  • Traffic on the Garden State Parkway is a pain 24/7?
  • Toll prices have gotten out of control?
  • Too many trucks?
  • Too much construction?

Give YOUR grade on driving this summer on the Garden State Parkway:

Personally I am giving the Garden State Parkway a "C" on summer travel. Traffic delays have not been so bad, but toll prices continue to rise and there are more trucks on the roadway than ever before, which leads to more issues like blown tires on ther road, stones flying into windshields, and reduced visibility when you get behind one. I understand the need for businesses to have trucks out and about but it does affect regular commuting.

We will share the poll results on Monday morning, so choose your grade and post your comments below. Have a safe trip this summer on the Garden State Parkway.

"The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) monitors traffic on all public roads in the state, including the Garden State Parkway (GSP). In 2016, the Parkway had 389.6 million toll transactions, which was a 2.7% increase from 2015. The GSP is the longest highway in New Jersey, stretching nearly 173 miles from Cape May to the New York state line. It's a grade-separated limited access roadway with a speed limit of 55–65 mph, depending on the location. The GSP is a popular route for commuters and truckers, and in 2006, it was the busiest toll road in the United States." ~ Google AI Overview
