The Covid-19 Coronavirus has brought on a lot of sad or unfortunate news but there's been several signs of hope and communities coming together to help each other out in this health crisis.

Horizon BlueCross BlueShield has gone above and beyond during these times by donating a $50,000 Covid-19 Relief Grant to Boys & Girls Clubs across New Jersey to help support the 17-local clubs.

Both organizations issued a joint statement on Wednesday announcing the good news.

“We are tremendously grateful to Horizon for their commitment to helping communities and residents throughout New Jersey during this public health crisis. Their dedication to supporting Boys & Girls Clubs in New Jersey is critical in ensuring that Clubs can continue to serve the youth who need us most, now and in the recovery period of this crisis,” Susan Haspel, State Director of Boys & Girls Clubs in New Jersey, said.

“We are pleased to support the Boys & Girls Clubs in New Jersey and the 17 local Boys & Girls Clubs as they conduct their COVID-19 relief and recovery efforts across the state,” Jonathan Pearson, Executive Director, The Horizon Foundation for New Jersey, said. “New Jerseyans are relying heavily on community-based organizations for many vital needs during the COVID-19 pandemic, so it’s never been more important to support their outreach and relief efforts.”

Donations to the Boys & Girls Clubs in New Jersey COVID-19 Relief Fund will help these local clubs continue their response work, as well as to provide critical youth development services when we return to normal again.

Boys & Girls Clubs across New Jersey have distributing meals and supplies to kids and families while also providing childcare services to workers on the front lines and supplying virtual programming, mentoring and tutoring support for kids at home.
