Holmdel First Responders rescue suicidal man near NJ Transit train tracks
Holdmel Police and EMS come to the rescue of a suicidal man Wednesday around 4:25 pm on the NJ Transit North Jersey Coast Railroad tracks behind the Cosmetic Essence Incorporated/Saker Shop-Rite area.
A woman had called Holmdel Police and reported her husband missing and said that he was suicidal.
Police officers provided a vehicle and clothing description of the man who was missing and suicidal.
While they were responding to look for the man, a resident called police to report an unoccupied suspicious vehicle at the end of her cul-da-sac.
Police then determined that the car belonged to the missing person as they continued their search.
He was then found by the NJ Transit tracks.
The man was cooperative with responding officers and had sustained severe self-inflicted lacerations to the left side of his neck and left wrist.
First responders administered a tourniquet before transporting the man to Jersey Shore University Medical Center.
