I am delighted there will be a holiday basketball tournament at the RWJBarnabas Arena on the campus of Toms River North from December 26-30 featuring a total of 36 teams. As you may know I stepped down after 40 years as the founder and director of the WOBM Christmas Classic and I gladly passed the torch to Shore Sports Insider when the future of the event was in jeopardy.  While I am no longer directly involved with the tournament I guess I’m still a part of it since it’s been renamed the Kevin Williams Christmas Classic.  You can get the schedule and more at shoresportsinsider.com and maybe I’ll see you there for a game or two.

Today I put the bow on another year of the Hometown View, the 29th I have done this now weekly segment in which I share my thoughts and views on a variety of subjects with you.  Even though I am retired from WOBM I appreciate the opportunity to communicate with you every Friday which would not happen without the support of my friends (and they are my friends) at the Causeway Family of Dealerships in Manahawkin.  The big guy David C Wintrode and his son David along with Joe Stroffolino, Director of Advertising, Marketing and Community Relations have been the sole sponsor of this segment for many years.  I truly appreciate their partnership because they don’t just sell and service vehicles at their Ford/Lincoln, Hyundai, Nissan and Honda dealerships.  They immerse themselves into the community through their Causeway CARes program which offers resources and support to nonprofit, local and community-based organizations in Ocean County. That’s why I am happy to personally endorse Causeway.

I have learned that as you get older days, weeks, months and years fly by at an alarming rate and while you can’t stop Father Time each year you get to add another number to your age has in the very end been a pretty good one which I did in 2025. For now I will simply wish you peace and joy throughout the holiday season, a very Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah and good health in the New Year.
