Brand New Sea & Sand Indian Fusion Restaurant Opens in Highlands, NJ
What Is "Indian Fusion" Cuisine?
Indian fusion food is when Indian flavors and spices are mixed with foods from other cultures. For example, using curry on pizza or making tacos with Indian fillings. It’s a creative mix of Indian cooking with other styles.

A new restaurant with a delicious blend of "Indian Fusion" foods has come to Monmouth County. Sea & Sand Indian Fusion has opened in Highlands, New Jersey. With its welcoming atmosphere, rich flavors, and globally inspired vision, Sea & Sand Indian Fusion is set to become a standout in Highlands’ growing food scene.
A bold new addition to the Jersey Shore dining scene, Sea & Sand Indian Fusion has officially opened on Bay Avenue in Highlands. The restaurant combines authentic Indian cuisine with modern interpretations, offering locals and visitors a fresh new destination just steps from the waterfront.
Global Chef Brings Authentic Indian Flavors to the Jersey Shore
At the helm is Chef Premjit Namdev Khaire, an internationally acclaimed chef with nearly 30 years of experience across India, the Middle East, Malaysia, and the United States. Born in Mumbai into a family of chefs, he represents the third generation to carry on this tradition.
Among the menu’s highlights is Chef Premjit’s signature Murg Mussalam, a Mughlai-inspired masterpiece featuring boneless half tandoori chicken simmered in a spiced tomato-based gravy, blended with grated boiled eggs and minced meat. Guests can also enjoy fresh-baked naan, seafood dishes inspired by India’s coastal regions, and vibrant small plates designed for sharing.
Sea & Sand Indian Fusion is now open at 231 Bay Ave, Highlands, NJ. For menus, hours, and reservations, visit www.seaandsandnj.com.
