It's safe to say, 2020 hasn't been an easy year at all, and some are feeling it more than others. Our troops, who fight for us daily, are spending the holidays away from their family, at an already difficult time. One way you can help spread some cheer to the troops is by sending them Christmas cards. USAOA has guidelines to make sure your card gets delivered. Check out some of the guidelines below:

  • Only send the card, don't send envelopes
  • Don't use glitter or any other material that could fall off the card when it's opened
  • If you want to send any snack items, don't send homemade baked goods, only prepackaged and unwrapped items will be accepted
  • Only send cards with positive messages

You can find the rest of the guidelines on the USAOA's website. The deadline for sending cards is December 1st, and they must be mailed to the following address:

USAOA. Christmas Cards For Our Troops
714 Farmington Road West

Accokeek, Maryland 20607

This could be a fun activity to do with the whole family. Gather the kids together, get out your crayons, coloring pencils, and markets, and decorate some cards that will make the day of our US Troops. It's the least we can do to thank them for all they do for us!
