The same organization that's partnering with the Ocean County Child Advocacy Center on its improvement project is also offering help to other child advocates in our area.

Toms River-based Helping Others Grow (HOG) is offering free workshops for agencies that serve children and families in Ocean County.  Community Outreach Coordinator Tara DeLorme sums up exactly why.

"It's not a job, it's a mission, and we love what we do," DeLorme said.

HOG has collected a group of experts in a variety of areas to conduct the training.  Topics range from child welfare and nutrition to home safety and child literacy.  If your agency or organization is interested in taking part, just contact Tara DeLorme at tdelorme@helpingothersgrow.com

Those workshops are just the latest in HOG's ongoing efforts to improve child welfare in Ocean County.  DeLorme says they also offer guidance and consulting services.

"We support family-serving agencies that promote and protect the factors that address children's social, physical, emotional, and behavioral wellness," DeLorme said.  "We build upon existing programs that are already here in the county because we believe that in order to help children we have to support the family."
