It doesn't happen every day, and it doesn't always happen at exactly the same time, but someone in Toms River is whistlin' Dixie, and I need to know who.

It happens a few times a week - I'll be sitting at my desk, overlooking Water Street, and I'll hear the immediately recognizable cadence of a car horn playing Dixie, made most famous by The General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard.

I always pop up from my chair, hoping to spot the happy honker, but I never see a vehicle that stands out from the pack - no General Lee replicas, no good ole' boy pickup trucks, just a bunch of nondescript Toms River traffic.

Now, don't get me wrong, this isn't a problem, and it doesn't bother me. In fact, if anything, it's become a game on the 4th floor here - who's "whistlin' Dixie" in downtown Toms River?

Have you heard it? Do you know who it is? Inquiring minds want to know!
